A New Year, A New Look

As Christmas wraps up and a New Year is quickly approaching, this means a new look for HouseWarmings.

We are very excited to announce the arrival of our fantastic new floor model furniture arriving from Van Gogh Designs (vangoghdesigns.ca) January 5th. With the new furniture means lots of fabulous fabrics to choose from for custom upholstered furniture. And we couldn't have new furniture without new coffee and end tables and amazing new accessories arriving daily.

Now that the Christmas Season is upon us, I would like to introduce HouseWarmings newest "Favorite Thing".

Fabulous new jewllery has arrived for fall

We've just received our latest fall jewllery from Cape Coco and Parfait. IT'S FABULOUS!! Earrings, chunky bracelets and necklaces. Come in to check it all out.

Also, just a little reminder that we are having our grand christmas reveal on November 2. The entire store will be closed October 31 and November 1.     

Cozy for Fall

Now that September is here I find myself thinking about cozying up my home for fall. This is a great time of the year now that the kids are back in school to think about your favorite space to make cozy. It might be as simple as changing the toss cushions and adding a throw.

In my case, my latest project is my bedroom. This is a room in my home that became forgotten through all my renovations. The main pieces are there but it's missing the "wow" factor. I have decided to reupholster the ottoman at the foot of the bed in a fabulous stripe fabric to compliment my headboard. Having a piece of furniture reupholstered can bring new life to it. I'll also add a few cushions and new bamboo bedding. I have a chair in the corner of the room that needs a side table and lamp and then I'll have a great little reading area.

You can also get big impact just from a can of paint. Try painting the wall behind your headboard or adding wallpaper to one wall. At HouseWarmings, we have a feature wall behind our bed. I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Lindsay and I am the newest addition at HouseWarmings. Currently I am a design student. Throughout this blog I would liek to offer design advice/ideas from a students perspective. HouseWarmings will also be offering a monthly "favorite things" list as well as up and coming trends to watch out for. Our "favorite thing" item this month is our signature Florio side table.
